Course background and purpose:

Radiotherapy is a crucial component of comprehensive cancer care, needed for the treatment of over 50% of cancer patients. The purpose of this course is to build or strengthen the capacity of oncology clinicians and researchers in Africa in radiation oncology including in conducting implementation research and safe use of radiotherapy technologies for cancer patients. At the end of the course, participants will be well positioned for greater effective research collaborations in Africa and with high-income country institution investigators in radiation oncology.  Successful completion of the course should also position participants to be better able to conduct implementation research and take advantage of funding opportunities in global oncology.

First online meeting of Course instructors planned for April 30th live from Harvard Medical School  during the 2017 Global Health Catalyst Summit
